Visitors Center
Posted on Monday, February 21st, 2011 at 3:15 amWe worship 3 times each sunday: 8:30, 10 & 11am
Both the 8:30 & 11:00 services offer a “blended” style of worship – many traditional elements, including a regular sermon or “message” on the Bible passage of the day. The 10:00 Celebration Service is new & rather different – interactive worship where we praise, we question, we discuss and look for God’s leading in our lives. We use a variety of media to open our discussion so come find out what all the celebration is about.
At all our services, it’s “come as you are.” No suit or tie required.
At 8:30 & 11:00 there’s a Children’s Message, followed by Children’s Church. At 10, the children are involved in music & Sunday School classes (for all ages).
Our History
Historic Chapel
Macedonia has a rich history of ministry and service to the community. In 1843, Lewis Wolfe gave a plot of land upon which Macedonia was built. Two churches previously built on this site were destroyed by fire, the last during the Civil War.
Our historic chapel, (left) was erected in 1878 and dedicated in 1879. This beautiful sanctuary will be preserved as a historical landmark and is often used on special occasions. In 1921, the bell was installed to call the community to worship.
In July 2002 Macedonia became a full-time, station church for the first time in our history.
The present church (right) was completed in 2004 and opened for worship on Palm Sunday April 4, 2004.
