It’s EASTER EGG HUNT candy collecting time! We are in need of individual packaged candy and chocolates small enough to fit in an Easter egg. Look for the basket in the lobby to find suggestions and place your donations. We will collect though 4/14 and our Egg Hunt will be on 4/20 at 11. This event is for toddlers through 5th grade, and middle and high school students are welcome to help with eggs. There will be crafts, music, the Easter story and lots of eggs! THANK YOU!!

At the 8:30 and 11am Worship Services, children are invited to attend Children’s Church. Children begin the service with their families and exit with the teacher prior to the message portion of the service so that they can learn about God, worship and the Bible at their own level. They are returned to the sanctuary during the final song. Consider downloading the Deep Blue Bible App as a companion to our curriculum. On the App, they can watch bible story videos and play games related to the stories. There is no Children’s Church on communion Sundays so that children may experience communion with their families. Also, for July 2018, there will not be Children’s Church and kids are encouraged to worship with their families.
Children’s praise and worship through music begins each Sunday at 9:40 in the Sanctuary. While the focus is on singing because we love Jesus, the time can also be used to prepare to sing for the congregation. In addition, we celebrate birthdays on the 1st Sunday of each month; and each child who has a birthday in the month receives a small gift. At 10am, children are divided by age and head with their teachers to Sunday School in classrooms downstairs. Sunday School ends at 10:45. Pre K through 1st Grade students remain in their classroom to be picked up by their parents. Students 2nd Grade through 5th Grade return to their parents in the sanctuary.
Every penny put into an offering plate during Sunday School and Children’s Church is spent to help kids. At holidays, we use the money to help kids through the Book Bag Food Ministry, CCAP, and individual families who are in need.
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR DAY – We use this day to both celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. and to find meaningful service projects for our kids to participate in.
EASTER – Our Annual Egg Hunt is always the Saturday before Easter. After hearing the Easter Story, kids are divided by age for 4 separate hunts. All candy is peanut allergy safe.
VBS – VBS takes place each year in June. We have 5 nights of lessons followed by time of fellowship, food and fun. During VBS, we not only have a great deal of fun; but we also encourage the kids to become disciples by supporting a mission. In 2018, we collected items for Operation Christmas Child and were able to put 40 gift boxes together to send overseas. Kids helping kids in the name of Jesus – how awesome!
CHRISTMAS – Preparation for the Annual Children’s Christmas Program begins in November. Children practice the musical portion of the program each Sunday at Children’s Church and during children’s music time at 9:40. All 4th & 5th grade students are welcome to participate in a Christmas play, and practices take place on Sunday at a time to be determined.. All children age 3 through 5th Grade are invited to be a part of the celebration of Jesus’ birth, and the program is held on the 2nd Sunday of December at 6pm. Additionally, our 4pm Christmas Eve service is tailored for children and each child will receive a gift.
