How do we pray?
There are many types of prayer. We pray for ourselves and the family, we intercede for others, we pray for our leaders, the nation and the world, we give thanks and adoration, and we pray for healing, blessings, guidance and much more. Some prayers are as simple as “we need a little help here!” Prayers don’t need to be long winded and grandiose. The scriptures are full of very short and very long prayers.
The spiritual walk of each person is unique. There is no living being that has walked each step of life with you. Every step you have taken and each thought in your mind is known only to you and God. In life we all walk at different speeds, modified directions, some of us will start and stop, others will fly while others will be more like a turtle. There are many pathways to the Lord and only you can determine the speed at which you will follow your path. Jesus Christ has shown us the path back to the Father that we all fall off of once in a while. God forgiveness is already waiting for you when you choose to return to him. God knows your every desire and He will help you if you permit Him to enter your heart, mind and soul. Yes, we are sovereign human beings. God made us this way and for us to walk a spiritual path with Him we must ask Him to enter our lives, our hearts and our homes each and every day.
To pray, you can start with an invitation to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to become a part of your life and your world.
