‘Get To’ – Not ‘Have To’
From reading my blogs, you may’ve noticed that I do the dishes. Yes, it’s true, and please don’t let that get around; I have a reputation to maintain, you know.
Well, it’s actually enjoyable to me.
First, my wife is a great cook. I’m not trying to be nice or pay her a compliment. I’ve eaten at tons of other places. The best restaurants really don’t rival her everyday cooking. She’s got a gift – and our marriage is blessed because I have a gift for eating!
So, here’s my point. Doing the dishes is a privilege. It’s not a chore that I “have to” do. It’s a joy that I “get to” perform. I figure, if I’m so blessed to be eating so well, it’s an act of gratitude to simply clean up afterward.
